This started out as an experiment of sorts. As much as I love Brian Boland's quetisential Joker design, I thought I would try to do my own somewhat unique version.

Enjoy.

I wish I was now what I was when I wished I was what I am now...I know you believe you understand what you think I said but I am not sure that you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

"Who is Joan of Ark?"
*pause* "Noah's wife?"
Thanks, I tried to make him as psychotic as possible without going to far outside of realism.

Glad you like it.
best one in your gallery. i do think it could benefit from some color, but i used to have the attraction to all-pencil work, too, so whatever youre comfortable with. the drawbacks are that the areas that could really use a strong black, eyeballs, inside of mouth, dont get that and the image looks flattened. i'm also missing a neck, or at least the suggestion of one - he's a floating head, kinda awkward. also, a tip, when shading a background to just have it be a pencilly field, shade in the same direction (diagonal is easiest, i find) consistently throughout the image, otherwise it winds up looking kinda sloppy. all in all a good tribute, and shows great attention to detail and texture. props! B-)

Thanks for the tip!:D. I appreciate constructive criticism very much, it helps to make me a better artists!!! In this one I had the pitcure of the face in my mind, but unfortunately how to bring that face into a whole peice escaped me at the time (who am i kidding, I just got lazy ). I agree that the disembodied head looks awkward. I just got a wacom tablet, so this one is a prime canidate for some color and reworking in photoshop later. Iv'e got some other color peices I plan on posting later, they are just to big for my little scanner so I'm finishing up a couple before I take them down to kinkos to scan as a batch. :plotting: I hope you come back and check them out. :) And thanks for checking my stuff out, it is very much appreciated. ;)

another great pic, yes the attention to detail is amazing, yes i agree with Lieserl about the floating head and shading on outside, but hey - we all get sloppy :) and i cant criticize atall realy ehhe

seriously loving the expression on the face, he looks just as nuts as the original, great job

if eggs grew on trees we'd all be mad, but they dont so that only makes us that want eggs to grow on trees mad. [link]
Yeah, it was really weird. I had the desire to draw that face, but kinda lost interest after that. Now that I'm noticing the floating head more I really want to come back to it (need to learn how to freeze time ). Thanks for checking it out! :D
